GTS Africa SAS Group, a privately owned company based in France was created in October 2001. GTS is positioned to be the 1st mobile VAS Aggregator in Central & West Africa.
The core business of GTS in each country is the provision of premium shortcodes or longcodes across all the local mobile operators, enabling third party VAS Providers to develop and market their mobile services over SMS, IVR, or USSD channel on revenue sharing basis.
The provision of special numbering service in each country is subject to:
- The acquisition of a special numbering services license and the allocation of a block of VAS shortcodes & longcodes (virtual numbers) organized in different tariff bands by the National Telecommunications Regulatory Board
- Establishment of interconnectivity agreements with each mobile Operator for the activation and operation of these virtual numbers over SMS, IVR and USSD, on revenue sharing basis if applicable.
GTS Africa is currently operates in Cameroon and Nigeria through its subsidiaries, and will progressively extend its presence to other west & central African countries, through creation of subsidiaries or local strategic partners.
GTS Africa has extensive international experience in the field of GSM mobile network deployment & operation and mobile messaging services.
GTS Africa has devoted significant funding towards "Research and Development" towards the analysis and evaluation of the technological platforms of various international suppliers of products and solutions for the provision of mobile messaging services, to fulfill the particular requirements of the African market.
Based on its 10 years experience and technology partnerships established with some key international players in the mobile industry, GTS Africa has designed a global VAS infrastructure for the provision of premium shortcodes services and a wide range of hosted audiotex services and Enterprise VoIP & SMS services .
